Simpson Millar approached about Food Poisoning at Gran Bahia Principe

We specialise in helping people claim compensation against their UK tour operator when their holidays have been ruined by food poisoning.

We have been providing legal advice to some people from Canada who advised that they were hospitalised for two days while on holiday at the Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica. They have advised that they think that their illness was caused by food poisoning.

If you have booked the Gran Bahia Jamaica as part of a UK package holiday and suffered from a sickness bug, it may be that you can claim compensation against the tour operator.

The reports of food poisoning made directly to us follows a review on Tripadvisor of the hotel entitled:

Salmonella Food Poisoning

“Food poisoning salmonella”

The reviewer from Cornwall travelled in a group of four and advised that 15 people were affected with a stomach bug while staying at the hotel. When they arrived back in the UK, the reviewer advised they visited their doctor who confirmed that they had contracted salmonella.

The Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica is featured by a number of tour operators including Thomas Cook. The hotel has a large buffet restaurant with a la carte dining also available. The hotel boasts its own private beach and a range of features such as water sports and beauty salons.

Salmonella is one of the most common causes of Traveller’s Diarrhoea and can usually be prevented if the staff involved in the preparation of food are given basic hygiene training.

You do not necessarily need to have tested positive for salmonella if you want to make a claim. If you have experienced serious bouts of sickness at an all-inclusive hotel it is often the case that the hotel or tour operator are at fault.

We can be contacted today for a free telephone consultation whereby we can advise you how much your claim may be worth and what the prospects are of successfully making a claim.
